On
a professional level, my interest and experience in new
residents’ orientation programs began several years ago
with the opportunity to work for a large U.S. company
who needed assistance for new residents to Montreal.
On
a personal level, my family and I were there 4 years ago
when we moved to Montreal from central Canada. I felt
first-hand what being new, naive and somewhat uninformed
can do (or not) to getting established and settled…
Stress-free it was not, and after about 7 months of
talking to neighbours and new friends, I could finally
say that I felt comfortable with all of the important
information and services in place. I would have loved a
program like NEW RESIDENTS CONNECTION to assist my
family and I in our move and integration.
My continuing
work with the U.S. company added to my overall
experience and expertise in this newer and much-needed
service. I am now expanding my work to include even more
individuals and families who are moving and require
specialized assistance as they settle in.
The replacement of key information and services as
quickly as possible is crucial to well-being. Little
wonder that MOVING from another province or country (even
w/i Montreal or Quebec) is ranked as the THIRD MOST
STRESSFUL event that people face*.

The all-important comfort of feeling settled-in and
established is where NEW RESIDENTS CONNECTION steps in
and handles all of the facets of relocation for
individuals and families in their move and new
environment. The specialized program is provided on a
personal level and is geared toward the specific needs
of the person(s) involved:
